The Rocky Mountain scenery is truly spectacular, and the ideal way to experience it is with Turkey Creek Ranch & Outfitting on a camp trip or a private Ranch hunt. Whether you ride horseback, hike or drive, you will see an abundance of scenic beauty, wildflowers, grove of aspens and pines, trundling creeks, and Rocky Mountain wildlife. We are located at the base of the Greenhorn Mountains a few miles from Gardner Colorado.

Turkey Creek Ranch & Outfitting offers you a variety of adventures. You get to determine the type of trip that you want to have, whether that be a full day ride, with a relaxing lunch with a view, or a true wilderness adventure that could last for as many days as you would like or drive to your camp and fish at the wilderness lakes. We will design your adventure based on your particular expectations, whatever it may be, wildlife viewing, photography, sightseeing, hiking, fishing, ranch work or just leaving the commotion behind and having a quiet, relaxing time in the backcountry, or spending the weekend at our less primitive camp and taking day trips to local attractions. Just ask and we can tailor your trip to your desires.

 

Our camps are primitive but comfortable. We provide tents, kitchen supplies, chairs, all the necessities for a comfortable stay, all but your personal items. Guests usually bring their own bedrolls, but if that is not possible, we can provide one for a small rental fee. 

 

Our Camp Cook specializes in campfire and Dutch oven meals, for example, choice meat grilled over a bed of coals, cowboy beans, Dutch oven biscuits, campfire deserts, fruit cobblers and the best cowboy coffee.

 

If Mountain riding is not your thing, we can set you up as a rancher for the day. The cows always need tending on a ranch. We brand, vaccinate on Memorial Weekend.  If cows aren't your thing, we can set you up as an outfitter for the day. We start setting up hunting camps in late August. We also offer private Ranch hunts. We can ride to the falls and have a leisurely picnic for an afternoon. Call us and we can make it happen.

NOTE: The itinerary may vary due to weather, trail conditions, and other unforeseen matters. Remember, there is no bad weather, just different varieties of good weather! We reserve the right to alter the day-to-day itinerary for reasons of weather, wildfires, rider ability, and unforeseen events beyond our control. Children must be at least 10 years old and able to perform long days in the saddle. Due to the nature of horseback riding in the wilderness, participants MUST be in good physical condition, and trips are not suggested if many health or physical issues exist or if you require a special diet. While we carry a cell phone for emergencies, it is very challenging to bring someone out from a trip to seek medical attention. The flight for life helicopter is costly and is for emergencies only. We also reserve the right to exclude a rider from a trip for inability to ride or behavior that endangers the other riders or the horses. The safety of our guests and horses are our top priority.

LOCATION: We are located at the base of the Greenhorn Mountains on Turkey Creek, a few miles from Gardner Colorado.

 

PAYMENT: We request 1/2 of the total charges to secure your vacation within 10 days of request. Deposit must be sent within 10 days of request or forfeiture may result. The balance of payment is due upon arrival, preferably by check.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY: For all overnight trips, a 50% non-refundable deposit for each participant is required to reserve a trip. If for some unforeseen reason you have to cancel, you will NOT be reimbursed. It can be applied to future trips.

3% Administrative Fee: All multi-day trip rates will have an additional 3% administrative Forest fee added per reservation.

THERE WILL BE NO HORSES LEFT IN ANY CAMP WITHOUT A GUIDE OR COOK.

PRIVATE RANCH HUNT

​

We offer a non crowded, advantageous, productive, private hunt.

Private land allows for more privacy and less disturbance, giving access to elk and deer, and no risk of unexpected run-ins with other hunters. You have your pick of Unit 84 which is a draw only unit. 

In unit 84 

you will have the opportunity to hunt Elk, and deer on 700 plus acres along with prime hay fields that border Turkey Creek. Which makes this a desirable elk and deer habitat. Having an unit 84 tag allows you to access the San Isabel National Forest. We are a short drive to the Forest  trailheads and surrounding public lands.

 

Our tents are fully equipped with cots, stoves, and chairs. The cook area is fully stocked with cooking gear, stoves and utensils. All you need to bring is your own personal items, sleeping gear, and food and drinking water. We cook and supply food for the Bull Elk hunts and Deer hunts.

• Private 2:1 guided hunt cow elk $ 2250 with lodging.

• Private 2:1  guided hunt bull elk $ 7000 with lodging and meals.

• Private 2:1  guided Deer Hunt  $ 5250 with lodging and meals.

• Private 2:1 guided Bear hunts $ 1500.00 with lodging.

Hunters are responsible for purchasing their tags.

These are guided hunts. The hunts last for 5 days. We will assist with game retrieval and taking game to processor

 

Game retrieval outside the ranch $500 must be quartered.

 

Down payment: The hunt will require a nonrefundable, 1/2 deposit to hold your spot. The balance is due upon arrival and Hunters will need to sign an agreement. Applications are due the 1st of April. The applications for the secondary draw is accepted June 20-28.
